Every year on 3 October in the UK
National Boyfriend Day: a day to say thanks to the man in your life.
No grand gestures needed. National Boyfriend Day is a simple reason to tell your boyfriend you notice what he does, and to have some fun doing it.
What is National Boyfriend Day?
National Boyfriend Day falls on 3 October every year. It is an unofficial day, with no single organiser, that grew up on social media. People use it to thank their boyfriends, share a photo or two, and plan something small together. Plenty of single people join in too, usually with a joke.
The next one is on Sunday 3 October 2027. It comes two months after National Girlfriend Day on 1 August.
Simple ways to mark the day
Say it
Write down three things he does that you are grateful for. Leave the note where he will find it.
Keep it small
Breakfast in bed, his favourite takeaway, or a coffee brought to him just how he likes it.
Do something new
Try a place or an activity neither of you has done before. New memories beat new things.
Single? Join in
Thank a friend who always turns up for you, or treat yourself. The day is about appreciation.
For brands
Gifts, flowers, dinners out, grooming, cards and dating apps all have a natural place on National Boyfriend Day. We work with a small number of partners each year.
For the press
Key facts, dates and our annual research, The Boyfriend Report, are on the press page.
